How It Works

Stop the heat before it enters the room

In Dubai, the sun does not just provide light — it delivers enormous amounts of infrared radiation that heats any surface it touches. Standard glass does almost nothing to stop this. By 2pm in summer, a west-facing room can reach 34°C or more even with AC running.

Heat rejection window film — the most effective product in our solar film Dubai range — works by reflecting and absorbing solar infrared radiation before it passes through the glass. Up to 82% of solar heat is rejected at the window surface. The room stays cooler, the AC runs less, and your DEWA bill drops.

  • Rejects up to 82% of solar heat at the glass surface
  • Reduces AC workload — directly lowers electricity consumption
  • Blocks 99% of UV radiation — prevents furniture fading
  • Cuts glare on screens, TVs and work surfaces
  • Maintains natural light — room stays bright, not dark
  • Completely invisible in clear and neutral tints
  • Available in ceramic (non-reflective) and reflective options
Where It's Needed Most

The rooms where UAE heat is worst

Every south and west-facing room in Dubai needs heat rejection film. These are the most common problem areas.

🛋

West-facing living rooms

The most common complaint in UAE villas and apartments. West-facing living rooms receive direct afternoon sun from 1pm to sunset — the hottest part of the day. Without heat rejection film, the AC fights a losing battle. High-performance ceramic film on west-facing glass is the single most effective comfort improvement for UAE homes.

🪟

Floor-to-ceiling villa windows

UAE villas are designed for dramatic glass — large sliding doors, full-height windows, glass staircases. Beautiful, but these large glass surfaces are also enormous heat collectors. Heat rejection film on villa glazing, particularly on ground-floor villa windows, transforms the comfort of the entire property.

💼

South & west-facing offices

Open-plan offices in Business Bay, DIFC and Sheikh Zayed Road towers face intense solar gain on exposed elevations. Heat rejection film reduces the AC load across the entire floor, reduces screen glare, and improves working conditions — with typical energy savings clearly measurable on the DEWA bill.

Client Reviews

What our clients say about heat rejection film

★★★★★

"Our west-facing living room in Emirates Hills was genuinely uncomfortable by 2pm in summer regardless of how hard the AC ran. After SafetyGard installed high-performance ceramic film, the afternoon temperature dropped noticeably and the AC runs far less. Our summer DEWA bill has dropped significantly."

Omar K.Villa Owner · Emirates Hills, Dubai
★★★★★

"We installed heat rejection film across the south and west elevations of our Business Bay office. The glare on screens was the immediate improvement everyone noticed. The energy monitoring over the following three months showed a clear reduction in AC consumption. Professional team, no disruption."

Sarah M.Facilities Manager · Business Bay, Dubai
★★★★★

"My JBR apartment faces west and summer afternoons were miserable. SafetyGard came quickly, the film was installed in one day, and the improvement was noticeable from the very first afternoon. The film is completely invisible — the view is unchanged. Should have done this years ago."

FAQ

Questions about heat rejection film in Dubai

How much heat can window film actually reject in Dubai conditions?

High-performance ceramic solar film rejects up to 82% of solar heat at the glass surface under Dubai conditions. In practice this means a west-facing room that reaches 33–35°C through solar gain will stay 4–8°C cooler with the film installed. The effect is most dramatic on large glass surfaces in direct afternoon sun. See our full solar film range →

Will heat rejection film reduce my DEWA electricity bill?

Yes — by reducing the thermal load on your air conditioning system. In UAE properties where AC accounts for up to 70% of electricity consumption, solar heat gain through glass is a major driver of AC usage. Reducing that gain directly reduces consumption. Most clients with south and west-facing glass see measurable DEWA reductions within the first summer after installation.

Will it make my rooms dark?

No. Heat rejection film selectively filters infrared radiation (heat) while allowing visible light to pass through. Even high-performance ceramic film at 82% heat rejection only modestly reduces visible light — rooms stay bright. We show physical samples in your property during the free site visit so you can see exactly what the film looks like before committing.

What is the difference between reflective and ceramic heat rejection film?

Reflective film has a visible metallic appearance from outside — it looks like a mirror and effectively reflects solar radiation. Ceramic film achieves similar heat rejection through nano-ceramic particles embedded in the film — it has a neutral, non-reflective appearance from outside and does not interfere with mobile signals. Ceramic is generally preferred for residential use; reflective is common in commercial buildings.

Can heat rejection film be installed on double-glazed windows?

Yes, with careful film selection. Some films can cause heat build-up in double-glazed units — we assess this during the free site visit and specify low-absorption films for IGU glazing. We handle this routinely for Dubai apartments and commercial towers. Contact us for a property-specific assessment →

How long does heat rejection film last in UAE heat?

Quality film with Gulf-rated adhesive professionally installed lasts 12–15 years in UAE conditions. We only use brands rated for Gulf climate — Solar Gard and Madico. Cheaper unrated products can bubble and delaminate within 2–3 years in the UAE's extreme heat.
